Iñaki is co-founder and CEO at Madpixel, leader in super high-resolution artwork digitization for museums all over the world. Madpixel is the creator of Second Canvas, the platform to experience art that combines super hi-res images, storytelling, infrared vision, audio-tours… and is already used by museums such as Prado, Thyssen, National Gallery of Denmark and Mauritshuis.
Second Canvas has received support and funding from the European Commission as a H2020 innovation project (scModules) to add 100 European museums to the Second Canvas platform and develop different pilot projects, including digital exhibitions in physical spaces, educational activities, a network of artworks and museums…
Madpixel has recently introduced ROB – Art Digitization System. A robot that puts super high-resolution digitization power in the hands of cultural institutions and museums of all sizes.
Iñaki is a mentor with Impact Accelerator, a member of Chamberí Valley -tech entrepreneur association- and a prof at Carlos III University (Madrid) for their Master in Cultural Management.
He also co-founded the startup The Mad Video (San Francisco – USA), a SaaS platform for creating interactive videos (2011-2014).
Before creating Madpixel, Iñaki was a freelance developer for a decade, on the pre-Internet era (he still uses «Do while .T.» on his vocabulary), and a FidoNet and BBS lover. At that time he worked in parallel as a teacher on programming languages for two Spanish universities, and as a musician in three different bands.
Iñaki speaks Spanish, English and Polish.
